Checkout The Glamorous Destination of Cote d’Azur France Also Known As The French Riviera

Côte d’Azur, known as the French Riviera is one of the most popular holiday regions in the south of France. Famous for its sunny weather, colorful countryside, tradition, wine and food, the region is steeped in history. Cote d’Azur is a glamorous destination with numerous stylish seaside resorts and medieval villages perched above the coast. Stretching from Saint-Tropez to Menton near the border with Italy, Côte d’Azur translates to “Coast of Blue” and takes its name from the neighboring Mediterranean Sea.

Buzzing with energy during tourist season, it is an area where the rich and famous gather to flaunt their super yachts and villa rentals. Where high-end restaurants meet private beaches and where seaside elegance is fully realized. If you are looking to discover the best things to see and do, our list will guide you through an unforgettable stay.

    Nice

Topping the list is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean coast, which has been a staple of the region for tourists since the 1700s. Wander through the ravine-like alleys of the old town in Nice and stop by the colorful stalls to sample some of their fresh fruit and pick flowers at Cours Salaya. Make sure to make time to go to Place Masséna and the legendary Promenade des Anglais and photo opportunities at the Parc de la Colline du Château.

    Monaco

The tiny ultra-wealthy principality is a sovereign city-state and is known as one of the most expensive places in the world. Featuring grand casinos, designer malls, opulent bars and clubs, this principality spans just 200 hectares and is a hotspot for celebrities and royalty. From Place du Casinoto the Marina and the Palais des Princes to the geometric mosaic of sandy apartment blocks, there truly isn’t another place in the world like it.

    Saint-Tropez

Once a humble fishing village, this celebrated beach-holiday destination offers the unique mix of a small-town feel with lush Mediterranean scenery. Its cobblestone streets and squares (along with fishing boats in the Vieux Port) present an appealing old-world allure while luxury yachts, fancy restaurants and famed fashion boutiques can also be found here.

    La Croisette, Cannes

The sandy beaches of Cannes are lined with colorful parasols so visitors can soak up the sun in classic French Riviera style just off La Croisette Boulevard. Offering a golden sand with moderate waves off the city’s elegant main street, travelers can wander along the promenade or shop alongside fashion emporia next to the foreshore.

    Eze

Located about 500 meters above the blue azure of the Mediterranean Sea, the views from this village are truly remarkable. Just as remarkable are the views, the stone steep alleys and steep staircases truly defy logic. Set atop like a beacon, the Notre Dame de l’Assomption presents sweeping panoramas of the Cap-Ferrat coastline. This medieval village presents small art galleries, interesting artisan boutiques and a lovely 12th-century church.

Ephrussi de Rothschild Villa and Gardens, Cap-Ferrat

Situated between Nice and Monaco, Rothschild Villa is undoubtedly the most storied mansion in Côte d’Azur. The narrow peninsula of Cap-Ferrat provides seaside scenery and this remarkable villa was built at the start of the 20th century. Designed in the style of an Italian palazzo, the villa’s pastel pink facade and grand interior is only beaten by the vast ensemble of nine gardens.
